
Rice Pappad
A light and crispy homemade rice pappad made with simple pantry ingredients. Healthy, gluten-free and perfect for everyday meals.

Method
- Boil water in a pan. Add salt, cumin seeds and black pepper.
- Reduce the flame and slowly add the rice flour. Mix quickly to form a thick dough.
- Switch off the flame. Cover the dough and rest it for 5 minutes.
- Once warm, knead the dough until smooth.
- Divide into small balls. Roll each ball into thin round discs using a rolling pin.
- Place each disc in a steamer and steam for 2 minutes till they turn glossy.
- Spread the steamed discs on a plastic sheet and sun-dry for 6 to 8 hours or until fully crisp.
- Once dried completely, store in an airtight container. Fry or roast as needed.
Notes
You can air-fry or roast the pappads for a healthier option. Ensure they are fully sun-dried to avoid moisture.
