  • 1 cup Makhana (phool makhana) lightly roasted
  • 1 cup Curd (yogurt) fresh and chilled
  • 1/4 tsp Roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black salt
  • 1/4 tsp Regular salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp Coriander finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Sugar optional

Method
 

  1. Heat a pan on low flame and dry roast the makhana for 3 to 4 minutes until crisp.
  2. Let the roasted makhana cool slightly, then crush them lightly with your hands.
  3. Whisk the curd in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, regular salt, and sugar to the curd. Mix well.
  5. Add the crushed makhana and mix gently.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander and chill for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can add grated cucumber or pomegranate seeds for extra freshness. Use low-fat curd for a lighter version.
