
Moong Dal Kheer
Moong Dal Kheer is a light, protein-rich Indian dessert made with yellow moong dal, milk, and jaggery. Perfect for a healthy festive treat.

Method
- Heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan and roast the rinsed moong dal on low flame until it turns aromatic and slightly golden.
- Add 1 cup water and cook the dal on low flame until soft. Mash lightly with the back of a spoon.
- Pour in the milk and let it simmer. Stir often so the milk does not stick to the bottom.
- Once the kheer thickens, switch off the flame and let it cool slightly. Mix in grated jaggery. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Add cardamom powder and mix well. Garnish with sliced almonds and cashews.
- Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
Avoid adding jaggery while the kheer is boiling, as it may curdle the milk. Adjust milk quantity based on the thickness you prefer.
