  • 1 cup grated beetroot (raw)
  • 1 cup boiled sweet potato mashed
  • 2 tbsp besan for binding
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp jeera powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil for shallow frying

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Pan or tawa
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Add grated beetroot, mashed sweet potato, besan, ginger-garlic paste, and all the spices in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix everything well until it forms a soft dough-like mixture.
  3. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape them into small patties.
  4. Heat a pan on medium flame and brush with a little oil.
  5. Place the patties on the hot pan and cook each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and crisp.
  6. Serve warm with mint chutney or yogurt dip.

Notes

You can add oats powder if you want a firmer binding. These patties work great for tiffin, weight-loss diet, or as a healthy evening snack.
