  • 3 cups Cabbage finely shredded
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli slit
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • 2 tbsp Fresh coriander chopped

Equipment

  • Kadai
  • chopping board
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add ginger and green chilli. Sauté for a few seconds.
  3. Add shredded cabbage and mix well.
  4. Add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix again.
  5. Cover and cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes until cabbage softens.
  6. Open the lid, stir, and cook for 2 more minutes to remove extra moisture.
  7. Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh coriander.

Notes

You can add peas or grated carrots for extra nutrition. Serve with roti or dal-rice for a balanced meal.
