Cardamom Tea

A warm and soothing Indian cardamom tea made with crushed elaichi pods, ideal for digestion and relaxation.

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 Green cardamom pods (elaichi), lightly crushed
  • 1 tsp Tea leaves Use any Indian tea
  • 1 tsp Sugar Adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp Milk Optional for light milk tea

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Tea strainer
  • spoon

Method
 

  1. Heat water in a saucepan on medium flame.
  2. Add crushed cardamom pods and let them boil for 2 minutes to release flavour.
  3. Add tea leaves and boil for another 1–2 minutes.
  4. Add sugar and milk if using. Simmer for 1 minute.
  5. Strain the tea into cups and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier version, skip sugar or replace it with jaggery. Avoid over-boiling to keep the flavour light.
