  • 250 grams Lady finger (bhindi), washed and sliced
  • 1 tbsp Oil preferably olive or mustard oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and cook until light golden.
  3. Add tomatoes, turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt. Cook until tomatoes turn soft.
  4. Add the sliced lady finger and mix gently.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once bhindi is cooked and non-sticky, sprinkle garam masala and mix lightly.
  7. Turn off the heat and serve hot with roti or rice.

Notes

Wash and dry bhindi completely before cutting to avoid stickiness.
