
Moong Dal Barfi
Moong Dal Barfi is a healthy Indian sweet made with yellow moong dal, ghee, and jaggery. It is protein-rich, easy to cook, and perfect for festive treats.

- Dry roast the moong dal on low flame for 6–7 minutes until it turns aromatic and light golden.
- Let it cool completely and grind it into a fine powder.
- Heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan and add the powdered dal. Roast on low flame for 5 minutes.
- Add milk and mix well to form a smooth, thick paste.
- Add jaggery and keep stirring until it melts and the mixture thickens.
- Mix in cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased tray and spread it evenly.
- Let it set for 2 hours, then cut into square pieces.
Notes
Roast the dal well to enhance flavor. Replace jaggery with sugar if needed, but jaggery keeps it healthier.
