  • 1 cup Yellow moong dal dry roasted
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery grated
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Milk helps binding
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp Chopped nuts almonds/cashews

Equipment

  • heavy bottom pan
  • Mixer grinder
  • Spatula
  • Tray or plate for setting

Method
 

  1. Dry roast the moong dal on low flame for 6–7 minutes until it turns aromatic and light golden.
  2. Let it cool completely and grind it into a fine powder.
  3. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan and add the powdered dal. Roast on low flame for 5 minutes.
  4. Add milk and mix well to form a smooth, thick paste.
  5. Add jaggery and keep stirring until it melts and the mixture thickens.
  6. Mix in cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased tray and spread it evenly.
  8. Let it set for 2 hours, then cut into square pieces.

Notes

Roast the dal well to enhance flavor. Replace jaggery with sugar if needed, but jaggery keeps it healthier.
