Ingredients

  • 2 cups Thin poha use thin variety only
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts
  • 1 tbsp Roasted chana dal
  • 1 tsp Oil just for tempering
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 8-10 leaves Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies, slit
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar optional but recommended

  • heavy bottom pan
  • Spatula
  • bowl

Method
 

  1. Heat a pan on low flame and dry roast the poha for 3 to 4 minutes until crisp. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in the same pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add curry leaves, green chillies, peanuts and roasted chana dal. Roast for 2 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle turmeric powder and mix well for a few seconds.
  5. Add roasted poha, salt and sugar. Mix everything gently until the spices coat the poha evenly.
  6. Switch off the flame and let it cool completely before storing.

Notes

Store in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks. Add cashews or raisins for variation.
