Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Ragi flour (finger millet flour)
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery powder Adjust to taste
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Almonds (chopped) Optional
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder For flavour

Equipment

  • heavy bottom pan
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Heat a heavy-bottom pan and add the ragi flour. Dry roast it on low flame for 6 to 7 minutes until it turns aromatic.
  2. Add ghee to the roasted flour and mix well. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes on low flame.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it cool slightly. It should be warm, not hot.
  4. Add jaggery powder, cardamom powder, and chopped almonds. Mix everything evenly.
  5. Take small portions and shape them into ladoos using your palms. If the mixture feels dry, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of warm ghee.
  6. Let the ladoos set for a few minutes. Store them in an airtight container.

Notes

You can replace jaggery with coconut sugar for a lighter flavour. Store the ladoos for up to one week at room temperature.
