  • 1 cup Rawa (semolina) regular or fine
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery powder adjust sweetness
  • 1/2 cup Fresh grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 3/4 cup Water or milk for binding
  • 1 tbsp Chopped nuts optional

Method
 

  1. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and roast the rawa on low flame until it turns aromatic and lightly golden.
  2. Add grated coconut and mix for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in water or milk, stir well, and cook until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add jaggery powder and keep mixing until it melts and blends evenly.
  5. Add cardamom powder, nuts, and 1 tbsp ghee. Mix well and switch off the flame.
  6. Let the mixture cool slightly. Once warm, take small portions and press into a modak mould.
  7. Gently unmould and shape all the modaks. Serve fresh or store for a day.

Notes

Use fine rawa for smoother modaks. You can replace jaggery with coconut sugar for a lower-GI option.
