Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan on medium flame and add chopped cashews. Roast until light golden.
- Add the grated apples to the pan and mix well. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the raw smell goes away and excess moisture evaporates.
- Add jaggery and stir continuously. The mixture will loosen a bit at first and then start thickening.
- Sprinkle cardamom powder and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until the halwa turns glossy and comes together.
- Serve warm as a healthy sweet dish.
Notes
You can reduce jaggery if the apples are naturally sweet. A teaspoon of raisins adds good texture and natural sweetness.
