Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with foil or parchment for easy cleaning.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey or jaggery, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, sesame oil, and black pepper to make the teriyaki marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets on the tray and brush them generously with the marinade. Let them rest for 5 minutes so the flavours soak in.
- Bake the salmon for 12–15 minutes until it flakes easily and turns golden on top.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions, and serve hot with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.
Notes
For a stronger flavour, marinate the salmon for 20–30 minutes. Use jaggery for a healthier Indian twist. Avoid overbaking to keep the salmon soft and juicy.
