Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 medium guavas (firm or slightly ripe) washed and cubed
  • 1 small green chilli finely chopped, optional (for mild spice)
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint (pudina) leaves chopped, optional for flavour
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp black salt (kala namak)
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder or regular chilli powder, optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife
  • cutting board

Method

  1. Wash the guavas thoroughly. Cut them into small cubes or slices (peel optional).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the guava cubes, chopped green chilli (if using), chopped coriander and mint leaves.
  3. Sprinkle roasted cumin powder, black salt, red chilli powder over the guava mixture.
  4. Pour fresh lemon juice, then gently toss everything so the spices coat the guava evenly.
  5. Taste and adjust salt or spice if needed. Serve fresh as a tangy, healthy snack.

Notes

Best served immediately. If kept for later, guava may release water, making the chaat soggy. Use firm or slightly ripe guavas for crunch and freshness.
