  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp besan binder
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp roasted jeera powder
  • 1/4 tsp haldi
  • as needed salt
  • 1 tbsp oil for shallow frying

Equipment

  • Mixer grinder
  • Non-stick tawa
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Add boiled chickpeas to a grinder and pulse gently to form a coarse mixture. Do not make a paste.
  2. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add grated cauliflower, onion, besan, coriander, and ginger-garlic paste.
  3. Mix in chilli powder, jeera powder, haldi, and salt. Combine everything well.
  4. Shape the mixture into small round tikkis.
  5. Heat a non-stick tawa with little oil. Place the tikkis and cook on medium flame.
  6. Cook each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and crisp. Serve warm.

Notes

For a crisp texture, squeeze cauliflower well. You can bake tikkis at 200°C for 18–20 minutes with a light oil brush.
