  • 1 cup Besan (gram flour)
  • 1/4 cup Finely chopped capsicum
  • 1/4 cup Finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 tbsp Finely chopped spring onions
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 4 slices Whole wheat bread
  • 1/3 cup Water Adjust to make smooth batter
  • 1 tbsp Oil For toasting

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Non-stick tawa
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Add besan, chopped veggies, spring onions, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, chilli flakes, pepper and salt to a bowl.
  2. Pour water slowly and whisk until the batter becomes smooth and slightly thick.
  3. Heat a tawa on medium flame and grease lightly with oil.
  4. Dip each bread slice into the batter, coating both sides evenly.
  5. Place the coated bread on the tawa and cook until golden and crisp on both sides.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney or chilli sauce.

Notes

You can add grated carrot or finely chopped beans to increase the nutrition. Adjust spice levels based on preference.
