  • 4 cups chilled water
  • 4 tbsp sattu (roasted gram flour)
  • 4 tsp jaggery powder or sugar adjust as per taste
  • ¼ tsp black salt (kala namak) optional
  • lemon juice a dash (optional, for tangy flavour)

Method
 

  1. Take chilled water in a jug or individual glasses.
  2. Add sattu (roasted gram flour) to the water.
  3. Add jaggery powder or sugar, and a pinch of black salt (if using). Mix thoroughly till there are no lumps.
  4. Add a dash of lemon juice if you like a tangy taste. Stir well.
  5. Pour into glasses, serve chilled. Stir before serving if the flour settles down.

Notes

You can adjust sweetness and salt according to taste. For best results use chilled water. To boost nutrition, replace part of water with buttermilk or milk (for a richer texture).
