Method
- Add the chopped dates to a mixer jar. Pour in milk or water and grind into a smooth paste.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan on medium flame. Add chopped nuts and roast until they turn lightly golden.
- Add the dates paste to the pan and mix well with the nuts.
- Cook on medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- Mix in cardamom powder and stir for one more minute.
- Switch off the flame. Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a vegan version, replace ghee with coconut oil and milk with warm water. You can also add raisins or pistachios for extra flavour.
