Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds whole or slivered
  • 1/2 cup raw cashews whole
  • 1/4 cup raw walnuts halves or broken
  • 1/4 cup raw pistachios shelled
  • 2 tbsp raw sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • 1/3 cup raisins (unsulphured)
  • 1/3 cup dried dates (pitted, roughly chopped)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl

Method

  1. Take a large clean mixing bowl.
  2. Add raw almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds to the bowl.
  3. Then add the raisins and chopped dates.
  4. Mix everything well so the nuts, seeds and dry fruits combine evenly.
  5. Store the mix in an airtight container. Use a small handful (about ¼ cup) as a healthy snack between meals.

Notes

Choose unsalted, raw or dry-roasted nuts and unsulphured, unsweetened dried fruits for a truly healthy mix. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or chaat masala for mild flavour. Keep portions small because nuts are calorie dense. Store in a cool dry place for up to 3–4 weeks.
