  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder use good quality
  • 1 cup hot water not boiling; around 80°C
  • 1 tsp honey optional, for light sweetness

Equipment

  • Kettle or saucepan
  • Whisk or small frother
  • Cup

Method
 

  1. Heat water in a saucepan until it is hot but not boiling.
  2. Add matcha powder to a cup.
  3. Pour a small amount of hot water and whisk until smooth.
  4. Add the remaining water and whisk well until frothy.
  5. Mix in honey if you prefer light sweetness and serve warm.

Notes

For a creamier version, replace half of the water with warm almond or coconut milk.
