  • 1/2 cup rolled oats use rolled oats for best texture
  • 2 cups milk use low-fat or regular
  • 2 tbsp jaggery powder adjust sweetness
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped almonds optional
  • 1 tbsp raisins optional

Method
 

  1. Heat milk in a saucepan on medium flame.
  2. Once it starts warming, add the rolled oats and mix well.
  3. Cook for 5–6 minutes until the oats turn soft and the kheer thickens.
  4. Add jaggery powder and stir until it dissolves completely.
  5. Mix in cardamom powder, almonds and raisins.
  6. Simmer for 1–2 minutes, then turn off the flame. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

You can add more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency. Replace sugar with jaggery or stevia for a healthier version.
