- In a small pot, add the oats and milk (or water). Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- When oats begin to soften (after about 3–4 minutes), add the mashed or sliced banana and continue stirring until oats are cooked and mixture thickens (about 1–2 more minutes).
- Turn off heat, stir in the peanut butter until fully melted and mixed through.
- If using, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top and mix gently. Pour into a bowl and serve warm.
Notes
Use natural peanut butter without added sugar or hydrogenated oils for healthiest results. You can swap cow-milk with almond/soy/oat milk for a lighter, dairy-free version.
