Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup boiled pumpkin, mashed yellow pumpkin
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil for dough
  • Ghee or oil for roasting as needed

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Tawa
  • Spatula

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, add mashed pumpkin, whole wheat flour, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, and oil.
  2. Mix gently and knead into a soft dough. Add a little water only if required, as pumpkin already has moisture.
  3. Rest the dough for 5 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal balls. Dust with flour and roll each ball into a medium-thick paratha.
  5. Heat a tawa. Place the rolled paratha on it and cook until golden spots appear.
  6. Apply a little ghee or oil, flip, and cook the other side until crisp.
  7. Serve warm with curd, pickle, or a light dal.

Notes

For extra flavor, add ajwain, ginger paste, or chopped coriander. Use soft, well-mashed pumpkin for best results.
