  • 1 cup ragi flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour for binding
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water as needed to knead dough
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp oil for sautéing
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt for filling

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, add ragi flour, whole wheat flour, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add warm water little by little and knead into a smooth, firm dough. Rest it for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ginger garlic paste for a few seconds.
  4. Add cabbage, carrot, and capsicum. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well and let the mixture cool.
  6. Roll small portions of dough into thin circles.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling in the center, fold, and shape the momos.
  8. Steam the momos in a steamer for 10 to 12 minutes until firm and cooked.

Notes

Serve hot with spicy chutney. You can also add paneer for more protein.
