  • 1 cup curd (dahi) fresh and chilled
  • 1.5 cups water chilled
  • 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp black salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped, optional
  • 1 pinch ginger grated, optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or blender
  • Serving glasses

Method
 

  1. Add curd to a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.
  2. Pour in the chilled water and whisk again to make thin buttermilk.
  3. Mix in roasted cumin powder, black salt, coriander, green chilli, and ginger.
  4. Stir well and taste. Adjust spices as needed.
  5. Serve chilled in glasses. You can top with a pinch of cumin powder before serving.

Notes

For extra cooling, add a few mint leaves. You can also blend everything for a smoother texture.
