Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based) cold or chilled
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats quick or regular oats
  • 3/4 cup fresh strawberries hulled, chopped; can be fresh or frozen
  • 1 tsp honey or jaggery syrup optional, for sweetness
  • 3-4 ice cubes ice cubes optional, for chilled smoothie

Equipment

  • blender

Method

  1. Rinse and hull the strawberries, then chop roughly. If using frozen strawberries, skip chopping.
  2. Add rolled oats to the blender and pulse briefly so they break down a little — this helps make the smoothie smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour in the cold milk, then add chopped strawberries, honey (or jaggery syrup) if using, and ice cubes if you want a chilled drink.
  4. Blend everything on high speed for about 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy. If the texture is too thick, add a little more milk and blend again.
  5. Pour into a glass and serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

You can use almond or soy milk to make it dairy-free. For extra fibre or protein, add a tablespoon of chia seeds or a few soaked nuts (like almonds). Smoothie tastes best when served fresh.
