  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger use fresh for best flavour
  • 1 tsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp honey optional, adjust to taste

Method
 

  1. Heat water in a saucepan on medium flame.
  2. Add grated ginger and let it boil for 3 to 4 minutes so the flavour releases well.
  3. Switch off the flame and strain the tea into a cup.
  4. Add lemon juice and honey. Stir gently and serve warm.

Notes

For stronger flavour, simmer ginger for 1–2 minutes extra. Avoid adding honey to very hot tea to keep nutrients intact.
