
Cabbage Poriyal
Cabbage Poriyal is a light South Indian stir-fry made with cabbage, coconut, and simple spices. It’s healthy, quick, and perfect for everyday meals.

Method
- Heat oil in a kadhai on medium flame and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add urad dal and fry until light golden.
- Add curry leaves and green chillies. Sauté for a few seconds.
- Add the shredded cabbage, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix gently.
- Cover and cook for 6–8 minutes on low flame until cabbage softens. Stir occasionally.
- Add grated coconut, mix well, and cook for 1 more minute. Turn off the flame.
Notes
You can add a pinch of asafoetida for extra flavour. Use fresh coconut for the best taste and texture.
