  • 2 cups Soft seedless dates roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts) roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/4 cup Milk or water, to blend dates
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

  • Mixer grinder
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Add the chopped dates to a mixer jar. Pour in milk or water and grind into a smooth paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan on medium flame. Add chopped nuts and roast until they turn lightly golden.
  3. Add the dates paste to the pan and mix well with the nuts.
  4. Cook on medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Mix in cardamom powder and stir for one more minute.
  6. Switch off the flame. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, replace ghee with coconut oil and milk with warm water. You can also add raisins or pistachios for extra flavour.
