  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup soya flour fresh and finely ground
  • 1/4 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • water as needed for kneading
  • 1 tsp oil optional for softer rotis

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, add whole wheat flour, soya flour, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add water little by little and begin kneading the dough.
  3. Add a teaspoon of oil and knead until the dough becomes smooth and soft.
  4. Cover the dough and rest it for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin roti.
  6. Heat a tawa on medium flame. Place the rolled roti and cook until small bubbles appear.
  7. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear. Press lightly for even cooking.
  8. Remove from the tawa and keep rotis wrapped in a cloth to stay soft.

Notes

Soya flour is high in protein, so even a small amount boosts the nutritional value. Avoid adding too much as it can make rotis hard. Serve with dal, sabzi, or curd for a balanced meal.
