  • 2 cups sprouted moong dal freshly sprouted
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/2 tsp salt or as needed

Equipment

  • Steamer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixer grinder

Method
 

  1. Steam the sprouted moong dal for 5 to 7 minutes until soft but not mushy.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes and transfer it to a mixer grinder.
  3. Pulse just once or twice to get a coarse mixture. Do not grind into a paste.
  4. Move the mixture to a bowl. Add green chilli, coriander, cumin powder, turmeric, black pepper and salt.
  5. Mix well and shape into small lemon-sized balls.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

Notes

These balls make a great pre-workout snack. For extra flavour, add grated ginger or lemon juice.
