Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Mixed seasonal fresh fruit (apple, banana, pomegranate, mango or papaya) chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup Almonds soaked and chopped or slivered
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts lightly chopped
  • 2 tbsp Raisins (kismis)
  • 1 tsp Chopped pistachios optional, for extra crunch and flavour
  • 1 tsp Honey or date syrup optional, to drizzle for natural sweetness

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Wash and chop the fresh fruits into bite-sized pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add soaked and slivered almonds, chopped walnuts, raisins and chopped pistachios into the bowl with fruits.
  3. Gently toss the mixture so that nuts and fruits combine evenly. If you like a little sweetness, drizzle honey or date syrup and mix lightly.
  4. Divide into two sachets or snack boxes. Serve fresh immediately or refrigerate for up to 2–3 hours before eating.

Notes

You can vary the fruits based on season — mangoes in summer, apple/papaya in other seasons. Avoid adding too much honey if serving children or diabetic clients. Nuts give good healthy fats and protein, fruits add vitamins and natural sugars.
